BLACK ADAM 2: Sequel Film starring Dwayne Johnson not Moving Forward in New DC Universe

Black Adam 2 is Not Moving Forward

Black Adam 2 will not be moving forward at DC Studios headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Anyone paying attention to Henry Cavill being relieved of his Superman duties last week saw this move by DC coming. If Superman and Black Adam

were not going to have their on-screen clash heralded at the end of Black Adam, the odds were distinctly against Black Adam 2 ever happening. Now that shoe has dropped.

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson made the announcement on his Instagram and Twitter accounts:

DC Studios co-head James Gunn followed with his own comments on Johnson’s gracious comments:

All of this follows news that the entire DC Cinematic Universe is being rebooted, the Synder-verse, and everything else pre-James Gunn and Peter Safra is being wiped away. Gunn and Safran want to start a cinematic universe whose points (each film, TV show, and all connective tissue) are worked out before cameras roll and before the money is potentially wasted. I believe this is a smart move on Gunn and Safran’s part.

Black Adam Plot Synopsis

Black Adam‘s plot synopsis: “Created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, the character is one of the archenemies of the superhero, Shazam, and the nemesis of the Shazam Family. He is portrayed as a corrupted antihero attempting to clear his name and reputation.
